As part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) cause for Sports Club Villa Jogoo, the record Uganda Premier league winners continue to record a strong statement of intent.
On Friday morning, 6th April 2018, the club purchased 50 tickets for the 2018 Airtel Kabaka Birthday run.
The tickets were worth Shs 500,000/- and the running kits were delivered by a team led by the Buganda Kingdom Minister of Sports, Recreation and Lesiure, Owek. Henry Ssekabembe Kiberu.
Kiberu appreciated the efforts of SC Villa Jogoo towards this noble cause;
“We thank the management of Sports Club Villa Jogoo, the players, coaches and fans for this wonderful gesture” Kiberu stated at Villa Park.
Club president Ben Immanuel Misagga vowed to continue supporting charity and community projects.
“For three years now, we have been part of the Airtel Kabaka Birthday run. We shall continue to support in whichever way possible” Misagga promised.
The players, fans and club officials received their kits that they will use on Sunday morning.
The run has four catergories; 5KM, 10KM, 21KM and the newly introduced 25KM race.
Other activities were the club has engaged in Corporate Social Responsibility programmes include the cleaning drives in communities of Kasubi, Masaka, Kibuli and others, visits to hospitals as well as schools as Namilyango College.
