Congo 1-1 Uganda Cranes

Two Sports Club Villa Jogoo players made the match day squad for the Uganda Cranes during the last group E World Cup qualifier away to Congo.

Midfielder Allan Kyambadde and Jogoo captain Bernard Muwanga traveled with the team for the dead rubber encounter.

Kyambadde was introduced in the 55th minute for Muzamiru Mutyaba but Muwanga was among the unused substitutes.

Uganda earned a point away from home during the one all stalemate played at Stade De L’Unite, Kintele in Brazzaville.

Uganda Cranes’ goal was scored by Milton Karisa in the 11th minute.

Uganda finished second in the group, behind leaders Egypt who also drew 1 all with Ghana on Sunday.

Egypt qualified for the 2018 World Cup in Russia after a 27 year absence since Italia 1990.

Both Muwanga and Kyambadde return with the rest of the players on Monday afternoon, and will be part of the Jogoo training on Tuesday ahead of the Jinja visit on Wednesday against BUL.
