SC Villa was knocked out of the Pilsner Super 8 tournament in Arua after failing on penalties against the caterpillars.
In a match where the boys weren’t the best in the first half and looking intimidated in midfield by the former Villa player Abel Eturude who put on a commanding display against our new rejuvenated midfield.
The caterpillars made it still hard for the boys to settle with their left and right forward players who kept a constant threat to our defence in the first half and at the 35th min Kabon Livin scored for the caterpillars from Gaddaffi Wahab’s freekick which helped the caterpillars to be in control of the game at Halftime but scored no other goal.
Our head coach Moses Bassena made a crucial change in midfield before halftime when he brought in Manco Kaweesa for Lincoln Mukisa that helped stabalise the midfield although Onduparaka kept on attacking.
We started second half better and pressed the game up high much to the swift fast passing we witnessed in our last concluded game against URA FC, our striker Ajab Abdalahaman missed a sitter in second half.
The equalizer came from our new signed defender Savio Kabugo with his power header in the 86th min sending the game into penalty shootouts.
The penalties ended 5:4 in favor of Onduparaka FC with just one of our players putting the spot kick wide.
Living Kabon, Dennis “Djemba-Djemba” Okot Oola, Rashid “Mertasacker” Toha, Viane Ssekajugo and goalkeeper Nicholas Ssebwato were on target for the Catarpillars.
Ambrose Kirya, Savio Kabugo, Habibu Kavuma and Manco Kaweesa scored for Moses Basena’s side but Kenneth Ssebuliba missed to wear the villain’s coat.
Final Score Onduparaka 1(5): 1(4) SC Villa.
SC Villa next match is between Nyamityobora FC in Hoima Goma Grounds.
